"I told her on the pager, `I love you very much. Will you marry me?" he remembers. "I heard her pager go off. Then, she paged me back and said, `yes."'
Born in San Francisco and reared in San Diego, Chante arrived on the music scene in 1992 with the album Precious, which featured the hits Love's Taken Over, It's Alright and Candlelight And You, a duet with Keith Washington.
She followed up that success with her 1994 album A Love Supreme with the hit songs Old School Lovin', This Time and My Special Perfect One.
The 1999 album, This Moment Is Mine, featured the tunes Easy and the title cut. The tune that really catapulted the album was the catchy ode dedicated to good men, Chante's Got A Man.

Last year she was lauded for her work with the Isley Brothers on the smash song Contagious, where she also appeared in the video opposite R. Kelly. She also recorded a fourth album, Exposed, which featured the catchy dance tune Straight Up.
Born and reared in Washington, D.C., Kenny hit the music scene as a solo artist in 1996. His self-titled debut album featured the tunes Never Too Busy and For You. The Grammy-nominated ballad For You continues to be a wedding classic worldwide.
Two years later he recorded his second album, The Soul Of A Man, which featured the hit Days Like This. His current album, Weekend, is doing well on the record charts with its up-tempo title track.
Los Angeles is where the couple plans to call home; just recently they settled into a new place.
Kenny says he's adjusting well to his role as stepdad to adorable Sophia, whom he describes as "wonderful."
He says that he and his lovely bride look forward to starting a family of their own, but that's much later down the line.
"Not for at least another year. We're so busy getting things in order. But if something happens to fly that may not be in the plan, well, I'll accept it," he laughs. "It's all right."
The newlyweds are excited about the future and assure their fans that the best is yet to come.
"Keep your eyes open, period," says Chante. "There's a lot that's going to happen. Good things are coming. I'm excited about the future. This year started out really great, obviously, and I'm expecting even more greatness."
