Oprah turns 50

OPRAH TURNS 50: Oprah Winfrey is greeted by surprise guests Stevie Wonder. John Travolta, Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, broadcaster and O magazine editor, and Tina Turner during a celebration of her 50th birthday on "'The Oprah Winfrey Show" in Chicago. Wonder and Turner performed during the show and Travolta and King were co--hosts if the show that included friends and family from around the world, a star-studded lineup, a 400-pound, one-of-a-kind banana-flavored cake, wheeled out by talk show host, Jay Leno.
The show's set was decorated with more than 10,000 flowers. Winfrey received taped birthday greetings from Nelson Mandela, Halle Berry, Quincy Jones, Steven Spielberg, Sidney Pottier. Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Chris Rock. Bernie Mac, Julia Roberts. Diane Sawyer, the cast of "Sex and the City" and other celebrity friends.
