New Arkansas ethics commissioner

Jet, August 23, 2004

NEW ARKANSAS ETHICS COMMISSIONER: Larry Ross (1) of North Little Rock, AR, is congratulated by Arkansas Attorney General Mike Beebe after Beebe appointed Ross as the newest member of the Arkansas Ethics Commission in Little Rock, AR. Ross, 57, a minister and former telephone company executive, replaces George Stancil, who died in July, four months after Beebe named him to the commission.

The five-member commission panel monitors political and lobbyist activities, investigates complaints and sanctions ethics violators, sometimes drawing fire from those it regulates. Ross said he will be even-handed. "I'll call it as I see it, based on what the constitution says and the facts," said Ross.
