Ronald Isley suffers mild stroke; recuperating at home

Soul singer Ronald Isley, aka "Mr. Biggs," is recovering at home after he suffered a mild stroke in London, according to a record company spokesperson.

"He suffered a very, very mild stroke and we expect him to make a very quick and full recovery," a Def Jam Records spokesperson told JET.

The 63-year-old singer was walking in London when he became sick and checked into a local hospital for a few days. At JET press time, he was in good spirits and resting comfortably at his St. Louis home, the spokesperson said.

Isley and the family group, the Isley Brothers, have been recording for more than 40 The group's hits include Twist and Shout, It's Your Thing, For The Love of You, Between the Sheets, and Harvest for the World. In recent years, Isley has reached a younger generation of fans as his musical alter ego "Mr. Biggs" on such hits as Contagious, What Would You Do and Secret Lover.
