Ashanti: on her career, controversy & love in the March Ebony

Hip-hop princess Ashanti is proving to those who once called her a one-hit wonder that she has staying power with her successful new CD and budding acting career.

In the March Annual Women's Issue, EBONY talks to the singer-turned-actress about the ups and downs of stardom and puts an end to rumors regarding the controversy and criticism surrounding her.

At this point in her life there are no limits to what Ashanti can accomplish.

The 24-year-old has found more success in her young career than some work their entire lives for. After two hit CDs and numerous awards, including the coveted Grammy, Ashanti continues to move forward by climbing the record charts with her third and newest CD Concrete Rose.

And that's not all. Her acting debut in the hit movie Coach Carter has opened the doors for her to appear in more films.

"It's an exciting time for me," she says of her busy life. "I'm feeling great, even though I'm not getting a lot of sleep these days."
