Big Bucks As Running Back
Jet, August 7, 2000
Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, 26, answers questions from the media about his $41.25 million multiyear contract extension during a news conference at the Titans' training facility in Nashville, TN. The deal, which includes a $10 million signing bonus and an option to play a seventh year for an additional $4 million, makes the four-year veteran the highest-paid running back in the NFL.
The 1995 Heisman Trophy winner has not missed a game in his first four seasons and has had 25 100-yard games. The Titans are 20-5 when he rushes for 100 yards, and he set career highs last season with 1,762 yards and 13 touchdowns as his team reached its first Super Bowl in 40 years.
