Jet, July 12, 1993
World Boxing Council super welterweight champion Terry Norris overcame a second round knockdown to retain his title against Australian challenger Troy Waters in the San Diego Sports Arena.
The knockdown apparently angered Norris, because he punished Waters throughout the remainder of the fight as Waters failed to answer the bell to start the fourth round.
Waters required 24 stitches to repair three cuts around his eyes.
Norris, 26, now holds a record of 35-3 with 21 knockouts.
