Colbert honored by 100 Black Men of America, Inc

Virgis Colbert, vice president of worldwide operations for Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee, WI, was recently honored by 100 Black Men of America, Inc. with the Distinguished Leadership Award.

The award was presented to Colbert at the organization's 10th Annual National Convention in Miami for his commitment and outstanding leadership in the nation's Black community.

"I am honored to be recognized by this fine leadership organization," Colbert said. "100 Black Men of America does great work in many communities."

Jack N. MacDonough, chairman and chief executive officer of Miller Brewing, said, "Virgis has a sincere and strong commitment to the African-American community, and this honor is well-deserved."

Colbert joined Miller Brewing in 1979 and was elected to Miller's Board of Directors and Executive Committee in 1993. Reporting to Colbert are: American Specialty and Craft Beer Co., a Miller subsidiary; all plant operations; brewing; research; engineering; quality assurance; purchasing; and corporate operations planning and improvement.

100 Black Men, which has 61 chapters, offers community involvement programs throughout the U.S.
