Virgis Colbert named executive vice president of Miller Brewing Company

Virgis W. Colbert who was most recently senior vice president of worldwide operations at Miller Brewing Company has been named executive vice president, which makes him the second-highest ranking officer of the company.

As executive vice president Virgis U of the nation's second-largest brewer, Colbert will continue to direct all brewery operations; brewing and research, quality assurance; international operations; engineering; and corporate operations planning and improvement, which includes logistics industrial engineering, facility planning and import/export orders. He also oversees purchasing and was recently given responsibility for information systems.

"This promotion reflects Virgis Colbert's value to Miller Brewing Company beyond his strong success including our worldwide operations," said Jack MacDonough, Miller chairman and chief executive officer.

Colbert has received numerous awards and honors including recently being named a national honorary member of 100 Black Men of America and receiving the annual Trumpet Award from Turner Broadcasting Systems in 1996.
