Members of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) recently reelected President Dorothy Leavell to serve another two years.
Leavell, the publisher of Chicago and Gary Crusader newspapers, was re-elected Dorothy during the NNPA's 57th Annual Convention in Norfolk, VA.
The re-elected president said she is "pleased and honored to be leading this powerful organization into the end of this millennium."
She also said, "I thank all of the members for their faith in me and for giving me the opportunity to continue the vision that I began realizing two years ago."
Leavell said she will continue to pursue that vision, which includes increasing the NNPA's national and international presence; expanding advertising revenues for NNPA member newspapers and the networking of the association with other national Black organizations.
NNPA has more than 200 member weekly and daily Black newspapers.
