Cuba Gooding Jr., whose line from Jerry Maguire "Show me the money" has been used by people all over the country, was recently nominated for an Academy Award as best supporting actor for his role in that hit movie.

Gooding was joined in the nominating category by British actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste who wowed critics with her strong role as a Black woman who finds out that her birth mother was a White woman.

In Jerry Maguire, Gooding played a football player who was dedicated and serious about his family and his sport. He also was able to show his emotions.

Gooding and Jean-Baptiste were the only Black actors who garnered nominations for the upcoming 69th annual Academy Awards which is slated for telecast on March 24 in Los Angeles.
