Dr. Dorothy Yancy named interim president at Johnson C. Smith University

Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy, a professor in the School of History, Technology and Society at Institute Of Technology in Atlanta, was recently appointed interim president of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC, her alma mater.

Her appointment becomes effective March 31. She replaces Dr. Robert L. Albright, who resigned as the 11th president of JCSU to become executive vice president for research and programs of the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ.

A 1964 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, she received her master's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her doctorate from Atlanta University in 1978.
