Actor Lou Gossett Jr., in Billings, Mont., to film a western, probably has second thoughts about parking his rental car in the sheriff's parking lot. Not only did it get towed away, but a computer check showed it was stolen. The movie company, filming Return Of The Lonesome Dove, had rented a 1993 Oldsmobile Brava from a car dealer.

The national crime computer said it was reported stolen in Detroit in February. But after further checking, the computer information was outdated, so Gossett got the car back after the movie company agreed to pay the towing bill.
