Henry Tisdale selected as president of Claflin College

After a 12-month search, the Claflin Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Henry N. Tisdale as the college's eighth president.
Dr. Tisdale, who is a Claflin alumnus, succeeds retiring president Oscar A. Rogers, Jr. and will take office on July 1, 1994.
A career educator, he brings to the position broad experience in the areas of administration, research, teaching and community development.
Dr. Tisdale received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Claflin in 1965.
In addition, he graduated from Temple University with a master's degree and earned both a master's and Ph.D. in mathematics from Dartmouth College.
