Walker signs with Bulls for remainder of season - Darrell Walker's contract with Chicago Bulls - Brief Article

Jet, March 8, 1993

Hard work and hustle recently paid off for reserve guard Darrell Walker, who signed a contract with the Chicago Bulls for the remainder of the 1992-93 season.

Walker, whose second 10-day contract with the Bulls had expired, was asked to sign a deal with the Bulls for the minimum salary of $140,000 before the All-Star break. Because the season is past the half-way point, Walker will be paid about $70,000.

"I was glad to hear that news. I felt I played pretty well, but you never know what's going to happen in this business," Walker told reporters after signing the deal.

Since the Bulls acquired him in late-January, Walker has provided the world champions with a much-needed spark off the bench. His air-tight defense and hustle has won him the respect of his new teammates.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound native Chicagoan and Arkansas Razorback star is a 10-year NBA veteran. He's played seasons with the New York Knicks and Washington Bullets, and is on his fifth NBA ballclub.
