A David Justice solo home run was all the Atlanta Braves needed to prevail in a 1-0 win over the Cleveland Indians in Game 6 of the recent World Series. The best-of-seven series concluded at Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta with the Braves winning four games to two.

After two unsuccessful appearances in the '90s, the Braves finally won the Series. The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Braves in 1992 and the Minnesota Twins defeated them in 1991.

Justice, who admitted to feeling the most pressure he ever felt in his life, got hold of a Jim Poole fast ball in the sixth inning and launched it high over the right field wall.

"I never felt so much pressure in my life but everything worked out today," an exuberant Justice said during the post-game locker-room celebration.

The Justice homer was all Atlanta pitcher Tom Glavine needed as Glavine and bullpen ace Mark Wohlers pitched a one-hit shutout against the Indians. Glavine, who won Games 2 and 6, was named the Series MVP.

Cleveland has not had a World Series win since 1948. The powerladen and pitching rich Indians, led by slugger Albert Belle, won 100 games during the strike-shortened 144-game regular season.

Before the champagne could stop flowing, fans in both cities were already talking about a rematch between the two clubs in 1996.

Only time, pitching and timely hitting will tell whether their predictions will hold up.
