'Cinderella' TV movie special produces spectacular rating for ABC

The all-star, interracial version of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's cinderella" had an estimated 60 million viewers watch some or all of the two-hour "Wonderful World of Disney" special, according to ABC.

The movie, which starred Whitney Houston, Brandy, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Alexander, Bernadette Peters and Paolo Montalban, easily won the ratings ranking from 7:00-8:00 p.m., giving the network its highest ratings in the time period in 16 years.

Ms. Houston also served as executive producer of the movie.
