Bo Jackson gets new and improved hip in second surgery
Jet, Sept 25, 1995
Bo Jackson, the retired two-sport star with the plastic hip, recently underwent a second hip replacement procedure, receiving a new and improved prosthetic hip.
Jackson, who had the surgery on July 24, was expected to come off his crutches by Labor Day Weekend, USA Today reported.
Jackson and his doctor, Robert Daley, who performed the first operation on April 5, 1992, decided that now was the appropriate time to get the new and improved artificial hip.
Jackson retired from baseball prior to this season and reportedly did not want the surgery to interrupt his acting career. He is currently negotiating a television series. He is also an avid motorcyclist and is planning a custom motorcycle shop. Jackson, 32, originally injured his hip on Jan. 13, 199 1, while playing for the NFL Los Angeles Raiders.
