Actor Martin Lawrence files for divorce

Comedian-actor Martin Lawrence recently filed for divorce after nearly two years of marriage, citing, "irreconcilable differences."

The versatile entertainer, who has had his share of run-ins with the law within the past couple of months, is seeking a divorce from his estranged wife, Patricia. He married the former Miss Virginia, who was also a first runner-up to Miss USA 1994, during a lavish ceremony in Norfolk, VA, 20 months ago (JET, Jan. 23, 1995).

Lawrence's lawyers filed a court document demanding that "the pre-marital agreement between the parties be affirmed and enforced" and that the couple share custody of their 8-month-old daughter, Jasmine.
