Deanna Brown, daughter of soul legend James Brown, weds Shawn Thomas in South Carolina

Deanna Brown, daughter of the Godfather of Soul James Brown, recently exchanged sacred marital vows with Shawn Thomas during an enchanted ceremony.

The bride, an entertainment reporter for WRDW-TV, the CBS affiliate in Augusta, GA, was a vision of loveliness as she was escorted down the aisle by her famous father.

The Rev. Herman Bing officiated the ceremony at Runs Missionary Baptist Church in Beech Island, SC.

The bridegroom is CEO of the Seafood Palace Restaurants in South Carolina, CEO of Thomas Realty & Construction and co-owner, along with his new father-in-law, of World Ribs & Wings in Augusta, GA.

During the reception at The Clubhouse in Augusta, GA, the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance to the song Try Me, performed by the bride's famous father. Bobby Byrd, one of the original members of James Brown's backup group, the Famous Flames, joined him to perform the song.

Deanna, a graduate of Wesley College, Towson State University and the Columbia School of Broadcasting, also serves as vice CEO of James Brown Enterprises.
