Hughes brothers ink music pact with Capitol Records - filmmakers Allen and Albert Hughes enter joint venture to create recording label - Brief Article
Jet, Oct 25, 1993
On the heels of the hugely successful Menace II Society, which marked their debut as directors, twins Allen and Albert Hughes are setting up their rap and R&B label as part of a joint venture with Capitol Records.
That deal came shortly after the two signed a two-picture deal with Disney Pictures. They surprised a few in Hollywood when they decided to sign their music pact with Capitol instead of Disney's music division.
Reportedly, the deal is a multi-year pact that calls for the Hughes brothers to release several albums a year and direct at least one music video.
