Rap superstar Sean "Puffy" Combs and singer Mariah Carey were the big winners at the recent World Music Awards, held in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Combs won the Best-Selling Rap Artist of the Year and the Best-Selling New Artist awards for his multiplatinum-selling album, No Way Out.
Superstar Mariah Carey, whose latest album is Butterfly, was presented the Best-Selling R&B Artist of the Year and the Best-Selling Artist of the '90s awards in recognition of her outstanding career in music.
Among the presenters were former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, who had to request official permission to travel overseas as part of his probation for a 1992 rape conviction; he must give his passport back to the court when he returns home.
Carey has won legions of fans throughout the course of her stunning career with the hits Vision of Love, Fantasy, Someday, One Sweet Day, Hero, Without You, Honey and Breakdown.
Combs, who is CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, catapulted to the top of the charts with his triple platinum-selling debut album, No Way Out. He is known for such megahits as Can't Nobody Hold Me Down, I'll Be Missing You and It's All About The Benjamins.
