Rapper M.C. Hammer's mansion in the San Francisco Bay area was recently put on the market for $6.8 million after being valued at $9.4 million according to reports.

The L.A. Times reported that Hammer's mansion in the Fremont foothills with a view of the bay and the city of San Francisco is six years old and has 11,000 square feet. The paper quoted Hammer's manager, Travis Clark, as saying, "He's happy to sell it. It's a new beginning for him. He's letting of the old."

Hammer, 34, filed for bankruptcy in 1996 after having earned a reported $33 million in 1991 alone. He listed his assets at $9.6 million and debts at $14 million. He reportedly spent the money he earned from such hits as U Can't Touch This on race horses, 17 cars, an airplane, a record label and the home that sits on nearly 12 acres.

The home he's selling has six bedrooms, two pools, a pool house, guardhouse, exercise room and two saunas, the Times reported.

Hammer recently starred in a cable TV movie and reportedly is looking for a label for a new album.
