Former New York Mets outfielder Vince Coleman recently pleaded guilty in Los Angeles court to a misdemeanor charge of possession of an explosive device and received three years probation.
Coleman admitted throwing a powerful firecracker near a group of fans in a Dodger Stadium parking lotoin July 24. He originally faced a felony charge (JET, Aug. 5).
A one-year term in Los Angeles County Jail was suspended and Coleman was given three years probation on condition he perform 200 hours of community service. He was also fined $1,000.
