Texas Tech star forward Sheryl Swoopes recently won the 1993 Babe Zaharias Female Athlete of the Year Award--the honor is given annually to the best female athlete of the year.
Swoopes, 22, led the Lady Red Raiders to an NCAA national championship, scoring in double figures in her last 38 games and thrilling fans in Lubbock with her gifted play.
Along with the award, she recives a $10,000 scholarship. Swoopes, an exercise and fitness major, is expected to recieve her degree in the Spring of 1994.
