Alvin Edward Harrison Jr., Tuskegee Airman, dies

Charles Gordone, the first Black playwright to win the Pulitzer Prize, recently died of cancer at his home in College Station, TX. He was 70.
His award-winning play, No Place To Be Somebody was produced on Broadway in 1970. It has been performed numerous times over the years by schools and regional theater companies.
Gordone was a member of the faculty at Texas A & M University where he taught English and theater for the last nine years.
He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Susan Kouyomjian; two daughters, two sons and nine grandchildren.
