Jada Pinkett told fiance Will Smith that she would be willing to sign a prenuptial agreement

Jet, Dec 29, 1997

By now, it's no secret that Hollywood's hottest twosome, actor-rapper Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett, have decided to tie the knot before the year ends (JET, Dec. 8). To be more specific, they plan to stroll down the aisle on New Year's Eve.

But, few are aware that Pinkett says that she offered to sign a prenuptial agreement, but Smith refused to have her do so.

"Someone actually had the nerve to ask if I'm signing a prenuptial agreement," revealed Pinkett to the Chicago Sun-Times. "I had to laugh, because Will is a very generous guy and we love each other. Actually, I've told Will, `You can make up any prenuptial you and your accountant want. I'll sign anything.' will is a great human being. He's like, `Let's not do a prenup.'"

The couple recently announced that they are expecting a baby. The child will be due in July, Pinkett told the newspaper. This will be their first child together; Smith has a young son, Trey, from a previous marriage.
