Derrick Thomas, a four-time Pro Bowl linebacker, signed a four-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. But terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Thomas is considered by many to be the best outside linebacker in the National Football League was the fourth overall selection in the 1989 NFL draft and made the Pro Bowl each of his first four seasons with the Chiefs.
The, 26-year-old Thomas has recorded 58 sacks in 63 career games. He tied defensive end Neil Smith for the team lead with 14 1/2 sacks last season. He had a career-high 20 sacks in 1990, including a league-record seven sacks in one game.
