Recognizing the growing number of Black TV viewers, FOX-TV s planning several new shows in the fall starring Black stars.
Funnyman Sinbad will star in his own half-hour comedy, "Sinbad." Sinbad, who was featured on the former "A Different World" TV series, will play a bachelor father who takes care of two foster children.
Filmmaker Robert Townsend gets his own one-hour variety show, "Townsend Television" which will features comedy skits, music and film segments.
And regal rap star Queen Latifah who has appeared in the hit movies, Jungle Fever and House Party 2 will star in "My Girls," a Black sitcom about four upwardly mobile New York women. The show will also star Kim Coles, Erika Alexander and Kim Fields, who starred on the former TV series, "Facts of Life."
