Rites in Greensboro, NC for educator Dr. Grace Lewis, 100

Funeral services were held recently in Greensboro, NC, for Dr. Grace Donnell Lewis, 100, an educator who was recently saluted during her 80th class reunion at Bennett College. She died at Britthaven in the city where she had been a patient for some time.

Dr. Lewis was recently featured in JET while attending her class reunion (JET, June 26) at Bennett where she received an honorary degree and was cited as the oldest living member of her class. She graduated from Bennett in 1915.

A pioneer in child daycare in Greensboro, she is survived by a daughter, Bernice Norwood; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
