Arthur Ross, brother of Diana Ross, and his wife found murdered in Detroit

Jet, July 15, 1996

Arthur "T-Boy" Ross, brother of legendary singer Diana Ross, was found murdered in the basement of an Oak Park, MI, home along with his wife, Patricia Ann Robinson.

The badly decomposed bodies of Ross, 47, and Robinson, 54, were discovered after neighbors complained of a foul odor coming from home.

Lt. Bob Bauer of the Oak Park Police told the Detroit News that it appeared Ross and Robinson were suffocated.

At Jet press time police were searching for the couple who lived the home for questioning. Regina Smith, 36, and Ricky Vernon Brooks, 44, rented the house where the bodies were found. Bauer did not name them as suspects, but they disappeared about the time Ross and Robinson were killed, the Detroit News reported.

The Oakland County Chamber of Commerce has posted a $2,000 reward for information about the slayings.

In a prepared statement Diana Ross said, "I am shocked and devastated by the loss of my brother Arthur. I loved him very, very much."

A songwriter, Arthur Ross wrote several songs that pop star Madonna recorded on her latest album, Something to Remember. Other artists who recorded his songs included the late Marvin Gaye, the Miracles and the Jackson Five.
