Debi Thomas, Olympic skater, graduates from medical school, gives birth to son

Former skating champion Debi Thomas and her husband, Chris Bequette, have become parents for the first time.
Thomas gave birth to a son named Christopher Jules Bequette II at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. The proud parents plan to call the new addition to their family Luc.
About the same time Thomas became a mother, she also gained the title of doctor.
She recently graduated from Northwestern's Medical School.
Thomas will forever be remembered as a skating champion. She was the first Black to win the U.S. Ladies Figure Skating Championship and the World Championship, which she captured in 1986.
