Established in 1995 by the New Zealand government in partnership with the private sector to increase the understanding of public policy within New Zealand and the U.S. through firsthand experience working in public policy in New Zealand.
Eligibility: Mid-career professionals active in the public, business or the nonprofit sectors. Must be U.S. citizens with at least five years of professional experience.
Stipend: NZ $1,700 ($500)/month for those on paid leave; NZ $4,000 ($2,000)/month for those unable to get a paid leave. Additional expenses covered by the program include: travel to, from and within New Zealand; monthly family stipend; allowance for household goods and relocation; allowance for research materials and books; baggage allowance.

Duration: Six to nine months

The Israeli Ministry of Health has created an opportunity for U.S. scientists to conduct collaborative, basic or clinical research in the biomedical and behavioral sciences at one of five participating Israeli institutions.
Eligibility: U.S. citizens or permanent residents possessing doctoral degree or its equivalent. Must have professional experience in the proposed area of research.
Stipend: Commensurate with experience and comparable to the fellow's counterpart in Israel.

Duration: Three to 12 months

National Science Council of Taiwan Fellowships

This program allows a research professional the opportunity to act as a director, consultant, teacher or initiator of a research project in Taiwan.
Eligibility: U.S. citizens or permanent residents who hold full-time professorships at universities, have published papers receiving international acclaim within the last three years and are experts in fields underrepresented in Taiwan.
Stipend: NT 110,000 ($3,985) to NT 160,000 ($5,795) per month
Location: Taiwan
Duration: One to 12 months (renewable for up to three years)
