Women's business loans - offered by nonprofit organization Count Me In - Brief Article

Black Enterprise, June, 2001 by Paula McCoy-Pinderhughes

Count Me In (www.count-me-in.org) is searching for a few good women--business women, that is, who are looking for loans of $500 to $10,000.

Count Me In is a national nonprofit organization that raises money from women to be loaned to women. Contributions, from as little as $5 are collected across America and then redistributed to qualifying women in the form of small business loans to be used for working capital, inventory, equipment purchases, or marketing materials, helping to strengthen women's position in the economy.

Terms of the loans will be from six months to 84 months, depending on the amount, with interest rates topping out at 2% to 4% over the prime rate. Visit the Count Me In Website to find out if you qualify for a loan or to make a contribution to fellow female entrepreneurs.
