Don Goens has been promoted to president of pay phone services at Ameritech. Goens is responsible for the sales, service and marketing of pay phone-related products and services for one of the world's 100 largest companies. Prior to his promotion, he served as vice president of finance and information systems for the enhanced business services unit.

Terry Lee has been promoted to director of labor relations for the North American Operations Industrial Relations Staff at General Motors in Detroit. Lee is responsible for contract negotiations, administration, arbitration and divisional labor relations for North America. Previously, he was director of industrial relations for GM's Delphi Chassis Systems division in Dayton, Ohio.

George Nichols III has been elected secretary and treasurer of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in Kansas City, Missouri. As one of three elected officers, Nichols is involved with NAIC budgetary issues and oversees the official communications of the executive committee meetings. He is currently the insurance commissioner for the state of Kentucky.

Julie Johnson has joined Hill & Knowlton Inc. in New York as senior managing director and director of U.S. media services. Johnson is responsible for managing the media services division for the international public relations firm. She is also a visiting professor at Rutgers University. Previously, she was a correspondent for ABC News in Washington.

Paul T. Williams Jr. has been named a partner at Bryan Cave in New York. Williams will focus on business and transactional counseling, litigation and dispute resolution for the 550-lawyer firm, one of the top 20 largest practices in the U.S. Previously, he was a senior partner of Williams & Harris, one of America's oldest and largest African American-owned corporate law firms.
