Charged with adultery after being raped by three men - Worth Noting - Brief Article
Humanist, March-April, 2003 by Karen Ann Gajewski
* In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, adding insult to injury has taken on a new, horrifying meaning. Just ask thirty-nine-year-old Touria Tiouli of Limoges, France, who was charged with adultery after being raped by three men. When one of her attackers denied the assault, claiming it was consensual sex, the police arrested Tiouli, charging her with adultery and with making a false rape accusation. None of the accused men were arrested, but the police confiscated Tiouli's passport and imprisoned her for five days. Now she can't leave the country until her trial, which has yet to be scheduled.
