People who have disappeared in Nepal

Humanist, Nov-Dec, 2004 by Karen Ann Gajewski

The UN and international human rights groups are gravely concerned over the number of people who have disappeared in Nepal, which has been experiencing civil war between the government and Maoist rebels since 1996. Reports indicate that 378 people disappeared in 2003, with as many as 1,430 disappearances in just three years (more than 1,000 of these at the hands of the government).
