Readers who have enjoyed the writing we have run the lost two years by Janet Dallett("When the Spirits Come Bock, " WER #50, 'A Time for Thieves, "#53, and "Foundations of Madness, #58) will be interested to know she has a book out. Dallett is a Jungion analyst who boiled out of success, institutional structure, ond Los Angeles to begin o theirapeutic center in the Pacific Northwest. Called Tomanowas (Chinook for "guordian spirit'9, it offers "round-the-clock care to individuals in their homes, supporting the natural healing process that we believe lies behind many psychotic episodes. When they nderstand this approach to treatment, most people move through the process quickly ond relatively easily without hospital or medication, and emerge with new understanding and acceptance of themselves.. Many choose to continue with depthi psychotherapy aimed at understand ing and integrating the breakdown's meaning. This work tends to prevent recurrence of psychosis."

Small, community-centered and deliberately avoiding government funding ("we find that bureaucracy obstruct the healing process"), this is a good service in need of donations (Tomanowas, P 0. Box 1383, Port Townsend, WA 9836 . patients and her professional coreer Her candor make clear what a collaborative effort any successful therapy is. This is a book about paying affention to dreams and coincidence, and about healing by making whole.
