Alys Culhane teaches English at the University of Minnesota/Morris. She is the co-author of Alaska Bicycle Touring Guide. In 1989, she was one of five women to compete in the grueling and friging 210-mile Iditabike race, a mountain-bike version of the Iditarod dogsled race. The Iditabike is held outside Anchorage each February.
