Jou a Rive

American Visions, Oct-Nov, 1995 by Bill Hasson

Jou a Rive with Boukan Ginen (Xeno 4024) - "Say no to violence; say yes to reconciliation." Those words were spoken by President Jean-Bertrand Aristide upon his return to Haiti. The music of Boukan (fire) Ginen (ancestral lineage) was silenced by the coup authorities but can now be heard, and it offers further hope to the people.

Eddy Francois is a true patriot, and the strains of Africa flow through his music.
