The company has also reduced the amount of polystyrene cushioning material and shrink wrap. In addition, product manuals have been reformatted to reduce the number of pages.

...The industry hype now urging consumers to buy into pen-based computing. As editors, we've seen all the hoopla before: 128K Macs, Windows 1.0, early LANs, multimedia. All terrific technologies that, in most cases, became full-fledged business solutions and eventually took a place as important, valuable pieces of technology.

In the case of pen-based computers, time alone will tell if an amusing novelty will become indispensable.
