A face-lift for your faxes - Technology Information

Home Office Computing, March, 1996 by Roger C. Parker

* ITC Charter is another robust typeface ideally suited for faxing. Indeed, charter avail able originally from Bitstream, now included on Coreldraw's CD-ROM) was originally intended for optimum reproduction on 3Oodpi printers. Compared with Times Roman, Charter has a higher x-height, heavier strokes, and more prominent serifs. And compared with Helvetica, its distinct characters make it easier on the eye when reading blocks of text.

* To add a friendly note to your fax communications, try Adobe Stone Informal. This extremely legible and readable typeface has the highest x-height of the typefaces listed here as well as the most unique letter shapes.
