QuickLetter is a convenient desk-accessory word processor for the Macintosh that includes many full-blown features. Its address-book feature gives you on-the-fly address merging and envelope printing. I stored a QuickLetter template of my letterhead, in which I can paste graphics, look up addresses, double-space, automatically insert the current date - and even see a page or envelope preview before I print - all from within other applications.

Its accessibility soon made it my most-used word processor for quick memos, letters, and single envelope printing. While online, I'd keep it open in the background to log in comments and ideas. Even while using Word to edit an article, I often open QuickLetter to keep notes in. When typing the same letter to two or more people, I can quickly merge their name and address by looking them up in the QuickLetter address book.
It's not meant to be your only word processor unless you literally type only a few letters once in a while. If you'll be working on long documents with many type styles and faces, and especially if you need such features as footnotes, spell checking, multiple columns, and search and replace - look for one of the standard packages. And unless you find QuickLetter at a low street price, its accessibility may be outweighed by its heavy price.
