Best Western Midway Hotel - Brickbats - Elk Grove, Illinois police do random drug raids - Brief Article

Reason, Dec, 2002 by Charles Oliver

Evelyn Boyd-Young was visiting Elk Grove, Illinois, for a drug treatment training program. One night two policemen knocked on the nurse's hotel room door. The Best Western Midway Hotel had invited the police in for a random drug search. They found nothing, but afterwards Boyd-Young wondered what might have happened if the previous guest had left drugs behind.

The hotel's manager acknowledged it was a possibility, since staff don't sweep rooms for drugs between guests. His solution? "Let the police figure out if the person is guilty."
