Strip search

Keeping abreast of a nude-dancer shortage that has forced at least one cabaret owner to consider importing the necessary human assets from abroad, Florida's Bureau of Workforce Program Support recently bought an ad in the Palm Beach Post seeking nude dancers -- part of its mandate to ensure that domestic strippers enjoy hiring preferences over foreign competitors in accordance with the U.S. Alien Certification Program.

Under the law, designed to protect American workers, the state is required to seek local applicants for a job before foreign workers can be brought in to fill the bill. And when a Stuart, Fla., nightclub owner threatened to employ cheap imports over our domestically grown women, the state swung into action.

"Exotic dancer wanted," ran the ad. "40 hrs per week, 7pm-3am." Job requirements include: "Perform modern and acrobatic dances, coordinating body movements to musical accompaniment. Choreographs own dance movements."

Dancers with at least four years of experience are preferred, according to the ad, which entices applicants with potential earnings of $11 per hour -- depending, of course, on the generosity of frat rats and lechers.
