The Circus Comes To Town in California
Rush Limbaugh, Excellence in Broadcasting Network, www.RushLimbaugh.com
Arianna Huffington is entering the governor circus in California as an independent the refuge of cowards. Independents. Moderates. Whoop-de-do. They're people that haven't the guts to admit who and what they really are. ...
Why is Larry Flynt even in this mix? Granted he's a kook, oddball, "smut peddler who cares" weirdo that we're all laughing about, but there's a reason why he's involved, and it's because Bill Clinton legitimized Flynt as a Clinton defender during impeachment.

What, Exactly, Is The Left Looking At?
Kirby Wilbur, KVI 570-AM, Seattle, www.kvi.com
The leftist chattering classes continue their drumbeat no evidence of WMDs [weapons of mass destruction], no direct link to terrorism, the Iraqi people don't want us inching farther and farther out on their limb. In the real world, progress is being made, the evidence exists for both WMDs and terror links, more of the 55 [Iraqi most wanted] are being captured or killed, more stability day-by-day in Iraq.
The big question remains, is the left suicidal or just blind and stupid? The answer may come sooner than we think.
U.S. Justices Solicit French Counseling
Rand Holman, The Rand Holman Show, WRTN 93.5-FM, New York City, www.randholman.com
Why did three of our justices [Sandra Day O'Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer] intentionally fly to Paris to speak with French President Jacques Chirac, at taxpayers' expense, for hispoint of view on the death penalty and terrorism? It's frankly more than a little scary to think that one-third of our country's highest court were even interested in soliciting opinions from world leaders and their jurists, especially after Chirac's aggressive antiwar, nay, anti-U.S. efforts last spring.
Were our justices influenced or lobbied? Who knows, but nevertheless, our Supreme Court justices must always think as Americans, interpret the constitutionality of our laws as Americans, with the education and experience inherent within American courtrooms. Pro-global reasoning is not in America's best interests.
Full-Court Press
Laura Ingraham, The Laura Ingraham Show, Westwood One Radio Network, New York City, www.LauraIngraham.com
Hillary [Clinton] hammers on solid federal appellate nominees like Miguel Estrada and William Pryor because she knows they will not act as super-legislators by treating the Constitution like a piece of Silly Putty. Confirmation gridlock isn't a game. It's political life or death for left-wing Democrats. If they lose the court, all they're left with are the universities, the media and the U.N.
Lawyers Shed a Tear Over Half-Price Beer
Roger Hedgecock, KOGO 600-AM, San Diego, www.RogerHedgecock.com
A judge in San Diego ruled that "Ladies' Night" half-price drink specials are discriminatory. ... I used to say "Only in California," but nonsense has become contagious across America circa 2003. Half-price Ladies' Night promotions at local bars and clubs are a popular way to attract men and women to come in, meet, mingle, imbibe and have fun.
No more. The clubs have been sued. Ladies' Night is a violation of the California civil-rights act because it discriminates against men. Of course this sounds like more foolishness from the loony left, but it's worse than that. The plaintiffs are a law student and a paralegal represented by a law firm of classmates from the same law school. Seven local nightspots forked over $125,000 to make this lawsuit go away. Speaking plainly, [it's] another perfectly good legal shakedown of small businesses that cannot afford to fight back. One of the seven has gone out of business.
No problem you say didn't like the women who went to these discount nights anyway. Well, the same law prohibits "ageism." How long before lawsuits against student discounts or, for that matter, senior discounts? In the name of civil-rights protection, men will now be protected against bars and clubs which attract women through lower prices. What a victory for civil rights!
Caught in the Middle
Tom Adkins, The Common Conservative Internet Radio Show, Philadelphia, www.CommonConservative.com
Whenever [Sen. Joseph] Lieberman goes after the center, Howard Dean says, "Democrats must take a stand against Bush's policies to win." In other words, for Democrats there is no middle, and what does that tell you? [President George W.] Bush has captured the middle! There's no vast right-wing conspiracy it's a vast right-wing majority! And Democrats have become a rabid minority of anti-American, failure-seeking, idiot losers.
