Both Clay S. Conrad and Nancy King did an excellent job of presenting their cases concerning jury nullification [Symposium, May 24]. I am a member of the Fully Informed Jury Association and appreciated the viewpoints they both expressed so well in their articles.

Amos Perlmutter, in "Return NATO to Its Mission of Defense of the West" [May 24], did a fine job of placing NATO in perspective, considering the current conflict in Yugoslavia.

Stephen Goode's interview of Republican Rep. Paul Ryan in "Defending the Individual Against Leviathan" [May 24] showed Ryan to be a good example of the kind of representative this country needs in Congress. I also appreciated Goode's interview of Lew Uhler in "A Formula for Cutting Government Spending" [June 7]. Goode certainly is making excellent choices in his interviews for Picture Profile.

I'll end by agreeing wholeheartedly with the warning in the last sentence of James P. Lucier's "The Arrogance of NATO's Power" [The Last Word, May 24]: "American soldiers are to be used as shock troops to make the world safe for international socialism." We are gradually becoming the victim of the international socialism he describes in the article.
