--Statement from the Iraq Pledge of Resistance campaign announcing "nonviolent, civil-disobedience" events in more than 40 U.S. cities.

"I wanted to come to Iraq and see Iraqi faces--children, adults, diplomats--anybody that implies."

--Actor Sean Penn's explanation to the Washington Post for his visit to Iraq.

"You'd think these guys would have learned their lesson from Jane Fonda."

--Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) compares actor Sean Penn's visit to Iraq to "Hanoi Jane" Fonda's efforts to aid the enemy during the Vietnam War. Dubbed "Poison Penn" by the New York Post, the actor previously paid $56,000 for an ad in the Washington Post criticizing President George W. Bush's position on Iraq.

"Anyone who can blow up the Pentagon has my vote." A comment made to his class on the day of 9/11 attacks by University of New Mexico history professor Richard Berthold. He has now announced his retirement due to "harassment."
