Guns in the cockpit

LEE RODGERS, KSFO MORNING SHOW, SAN FRANCISCO

The FBI now has warned the government and that incompetent bunch of Neanderthals who run America's consistently money-losing airlines that they have information that al-Qaeda has been laying plans for a new approach to skyjacking airliners and turning them into missiles. The plan is to use Western-appearing fanatics from Chechnya--already in place in this country--who can easily get through airport security and, once airborne, overpower the crew.

As if we needed any further argument for arming cockpit crews, this certainly provides it. The sheer bullheaded stupidity of turncoat-Democrat Transportation Secretary Norm Mineta on the issue passeth all understanding. Until a few years ago, cockpit crews were allowed to carry side arms. Instead of rescinding the fight, it should have been made mandatory.
