* High self-esteem or narcissism contributes to violence, suicide, depression, eating disorders, racism, drunken driving, teen-age pregnancy, relationship conflicts, academic difficulties and increased use of drugs and alcohol (research on the self-esteem movement in education, child-rearing and psychological counseling, based on several studies by Brad J. Bushman of Iowa State University and Roy F. Baumeister of Case Western Reserve University).
